Swans must turn draws into wins
Swansea City boss Paulo Sousa has called for his side to turn draws into victories ahead of tomorrow's early kick-off against Preston (1pm).

The Swans have drawn four of their last five Championship outings and Sousa is hopeful that maximum points will remain in south west Wales.

The two-time Champions League winner isn't concerned by the recent run of results and isn't expecting an easy ride against testing opposition.

"The run of draws does not concern me," he said.

"What I want to see is a team that creates opportunities, ones that can win games, and to have the same hunger and desire going into matches - which have seen during these matches.

"I have full confidence in my players as we go into Saturday's game against difficult opponents but we'll make sure that the three points are ours. Every game is important to win."

Of opponents Preston he added: "They are a team with a new manager who the players are trying to impress all the time.

"They lost their last game and for that will come to us showing a lot of commitment and desire."

Preston make their second ever visit to the Liberty Stadium on the back of the midweek defeat at the hands of Barnsley.

Manchester United loanee Danny Welbeck was on target for the second time in as many games in the 4-1 reverse at Deepdale.

Boss Darren Ferguson has called for an immediate response from his players.

"The performance in midweek wasn't good - it's not one anyone can be proud of, but sometimes that happens," said the former Peterborough manager.

"Perhaps we looked leggy and lacked a bit of energy. I'm not making excuses, that's just what I saw.

"We can't have any more games like that - the players know it, and what we need is a good response from them.

"It is all about how you respond to a performance like that one.

"There will be changes after the other night but we'll keep those close to our chest until tomorrow."
