Queen's birthday present to Radnor water company
Radnor Hills Mineral Water Company was granted the Queen's Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category today (the Queen's 80th birthday), putting it among the most successful businesses in the UK.

The Knighton company is a family business. The Watkins family has been farming in Wales since the turn of the 20th century and began extracting water from the mineral water source on their land, under the Radnor Hills brand name in 1989. 

This leading Welsh company producing mineral and spring waters and soft drinks, impressed the judges with its enterprising strategies for overseas trading mainly in Western Europe, achieving a sales increase of 87% between 2003 and 2005. 

Among other awards, Radnor Hills has won The Grocer magazine True Taste Award for its Honest to Goodness brand achieving subsequent listings at Sainsbury,s.

Managing Director, William Watkins, commented: 'We are absolutely thrilled and extremely proud to receive such a coveted accolade for our overseas trade and for our entire workforce to be recognised for their terrific efforts. '
