|Secretary of State for Wales Peter Hain has welcomed changes to the Wales Office team, including the appointment of Huw Irranca-Davies as Welsh Whip.
Mr Hain said: "I am delighted that Nick Ainger remains in post as Wales Office Minister, providing me with able support as my deputy.
"And the Wales Office will undoubtedly benefit from having Huw Irranca-Davies as our new Assistant Government Whip. Huw is one of the brightest of the newer MPs to have entered Parliament and I look forward to working with him.
"Huwâs predecessor, Kevin Brennan, helped us steer the Government of Wales Bill through the Commons, and his promotion within the Whipsâ Office is thoroughly deserved.
"Finally, I would like to pay tribute to Alun Michael and Don Touhig, who have left their Ministerial posts. Alun and Don were both outstanding Ministers and good friends who served Wales well in their time in Government."
Huw Irranca-Davies, formerly a senior lecturer and course director at Swansea Institute of Higher Education, has been MP for Ogmore since 2002.
Before his appointment as Welsh Whip, Mr Irranca-Davies was Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, Tessa Jowell.
He is married with three sons.
