Rhondda's fun-packed summer
Music, markets and much more are on the menu this summer, as part of this year's Rhondda Cynon Taf's Summer Festival programme.

Events for all ages have been lined up until September - and most are free - including music in the parks, town centre carnivals and farmers' markets.

Find out what's on and where in the Summer Festival brochure, which is now available free from Council offices, including One4All centres, libraries and leisure centres.

Rock, Folk, Country, Blues, Brass and Soul music will fill the air every fortnight throughout July and August, in the themed Music in the Park events at Aberdare Park, Gelli Park and Ynysangharad Memorial Park, Pontypridd.

Other highlights in the coming months include:

· June 11-17 - Pontypridd Town Council Anniversary celebrations with concerts at Ynysangharad War Memorial Park and other locations.

· June 24 - Ferndale Festival with street entertainment, craft stalls and more at Darran Park, Ferndale.

· July 14 - Porth Carnival in Porth town centre.

· August 4-6 - Big Welsh Bite food and agricultural festival at Ynysangharad War Memorial Park.

· August 12 - Historic Transport Cavalcade through Pontypridd

· August 26 - Aberdare Carnival, with brass band, stalls and funfair.

· September 9 - Cider festival at Llantwit Fardre

"From rock music to funfairs, and from flower shows to cider-tasting, there really is something for everyone this summer in Rhondda Cynon Taf," said Councillor Graham Thomas, Rhondda Cynon Taf Cabinet Member for Cultural Development, Recreation and Tourism.

"We hope everyone visiting our town centres and parks this summer will enjoy the fabulous range of entertainment on offer."
