Cardiff City fans and other local people are being asked to blow the whistle on anti-social behaviour by calling 101 as the new football season gets underway this weekend
With thousands of fans expected to turn out for home games at Ninian Park there is the potential for problems such as drunken rowdy groups, littering, noise or even obstructive parking.
People can report problems to 101 call advisers who can then inform the police or local council to deal with the problem if necessary
Jonathan Warne, 101 Contact Service Manager, said: "Whenever large groups of people gather for an event such as a football match there is the possibility that a minority of people may cause problems for others.
"However we are not tarring all football fans with the same brush. Bluebird supporters going to or leaving matches and generally out and about the city are in a good position to spot problems such as fly-tipping, abandoned vehicles, rowdy behaviour and intimidation and harassment, all of which can all be reported to 101.
"We rely on the public to inform us of incidents so they can be dealt with properly by the police and local authorities and would urge both fans and local residents to use 101 during the football season." |
