Hain keeps Wales as Cabinet crumbles
On his reappointment today as Welsh Secretary, Peter Hain said: "I am very pleased to have been asked by the Prime Minister to continue as Secretary of State for Wales.

"I was particularly keen to continue as Welsh Secretary as we are at an important time in the history of devolution with the Government of Wales Bill - to give the National Assembly for Wales enhanced powers - going through its parliamentary stages.

"The relationship between the UK Government and the Welsh Assembly Government is of the utmost importance to me and I shall carry on to help foster that relationship.

"This is an exciting time for Wales and I am delighted to be able to continue to play my part in our success story."
