Chepstow half term racing
Summer racing at Chepstow Racecourse steps up a gear during the school half term holidays. There are two days of racing, starting with a family day on Bank Holiday Monday and the action continues 24 hours later on Tuesday 29 May. It’s Family Day with Unison Cymru Wales on Monday 28th when there will be an array of free activities for children, including a giant mega slide, a super sized bouncy castle, a jungle assault course, face painting and a ball pond. Racecourse mascot Sir Willy Winnit will be out and about meeting and greeting families – and posing for photographs. There will also be an outdoor barbecue to add to the holiday atmosphere. Simon Lee, General Manager of Chepstow Racecourse, said: “Monday 28th is the first of our two major Bank Holiday meetings of the year – they’re always popular, especially with the families because we lay on so many free children’s activities. “Tuesday is a busy day too - another good fixture for seasoned regulars as well as visitors sampling the sport of horse racing for the first time.” *Bank Holiday Monday 28 May. Gates open 12.20pm. First race 2.20pm. Last race 5.15pm. Admission: Premier Enclosure £20; Grandstand & Paddock £15. Children free. *Tuesday 29 May. Gates open 12.30pm. First race 2.30pm. Last race 5p.10m. Admission: £18 & £13. Children free. On all days at Chepstow Racecourse, senior citizens and students with appropriate identification get a £5 discount; and one carer is admitted free with a disabled badge holder. Advance group bookings of more than 15 badges attract a 20% discount. More details about racing at Chepstow are available on web site www.chepstow-racecourse.co.uk; alternatively contact the Racecourse Office on 01291 622260.
